Sunrise - Bermuda style

Red sky at night, sailors' delight
Red sky at dawn, sailor's be warned!

Ok, now that might be true, but since I'm not going anywhere near the water after that Tiger Shark was caught here, I guess I could take a moment to appreciate the beauty of this.
I can't think of a more beautiful way to welcome the day. One of the four-legged residents at 4 Spicewood Drive - Puss Puss - agrees and was the first on the scene.

Hello from Bermuda

Hello family and friends

Just a quick update from the Walters in Bermuda. Mark and I are doing well and starting to settle down after a very, very hectic summer. Since January we have traveled to South Africa and recently to Philadelphia - so yes, we are pretty traveled "out".
As for life in Bermuda and work, Mark is enjoying his job even though he works long, hard hours - he says it's worth it.

We are now renovating the bathroom in our home in Fish Hoek - even though we will never get to enjoy it. That makes sense doesn't it! We have new tenants moving in at the end of August and thought we'd fix the mess the previous Jo'burg tenants made of our bathroom - let's just say they painted the tiles. (You can imagine...)
Here are the rough plans of what we're going to do...

I'm still working in special features at The Royal Gazette www.theroyalgazette.com and the last few months of this year are going to be very busy ones. But I don't mind because I'm doing the one thing I love and I'm good at - I'm writing!

As for the rest of the year - the cruise over Christmas has sunk. We are planning to travel to Miami and spend the festive season sitting in a nice Cuban-style pub along the palm tree lined beach instead. Anywhere warm. Yes, Bermuda does get cold and wet over Christmas and New Year.

Hope you are all well. Do stay in touch - email me at waltersabroad@yahoo.co.uk and I will post whatever photos you send me (family only, sorry guys). If you went on holiday, a child graduated, you are especially proud of your grandchild - anything!!!!

Take care and love from the Walters

Photo of me taken in July by a friend at work. Yes, I went blonde. Every girl should be blonde at least once in her life. It is true what they say "Blondes do have more fun!"

The diet is also going very well. Watch out summer 2007 because there is a bikini with my name on it.
----xxxxx----- thanks for all the support!

More updated family photos...

Tricia's cousin Cheryl with her mum, Shirley and dad, Lionel Gravet.

And a shoebox of memories revealed this photo of Patrick Abbott (Tricia's dad) dating from the 1960s.

Handsome devil isn't he?
